To begin this blog, new business and recent grad life journey, I want to start this chapter of life with this truth. Jesus is the better friend. I cannot tell you the amount of girls I have talked to who are struggling with the transition from college to adult world. Living on your own, providing for yourself, making new friends and adjusting to a completely new job and lifestyle is plain hard. Maybe the job isn't what you imagined, maybe you feel lonely and misunderstood, maybe you feel jealous and discontent when looking at other friends lives and situations. Let me tell you, you are NOT alone, this job is not permanent and the grass is not greener on the other side. This transition is hard. It just is. But boy am I learning SO much more than I ever imagined. I have had feelings of loneliness, apathy, anger, jealousy and fearfulness of the future. But because of the discomfort of new situations and circumstances I have been forced to realize the truth that was always right in front of my face. Jesus is better. He is better than comfort, friends, college or success. He is the better friend. Don't get me wrong, community is HUGE and vital to the life of a believer, but we can't place all our hope in it the way we can in Jesus. He uses community or loneliness, success or failure, discomfort or comfort to show us that He is better than any situation that comes our way. Run to him. He is your BEST friend. He knows your struggles, pain, fears, worries, joys and desires. He always listens, understands, guides and encourages you. But, most importantly, He has freed us from all of the sin, pain and struggle through His death on the cross. We are set free from sin and death so that we can proclaim this good news to the world! Isn't that awesome?!
I realize this blog post may not have much to do with wedding illustrations, but it is the core of who I am, what I am learning and who I want to glorify through my business, abilities and pursuits. I want this blog to be inspirational in creative ways as well as spiritual ways. I hope you can enjoy it and learn along side me
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
