When I sit and illustrate beautiful brides in their unique dresses, I imagine the process they went through to carefully and meticulously pick out the perfect dress. Since I took 4 years of classes on sewing and construction throughout college, I also think about how much time and energy goes into creating this wedding dress. When I look at a dress, I see the beauty of it and I am in awe of the details and quality. I often forget about the designer and seamstress who created it. They deserve the praise, not the dress itself. Each bead was sewn on by hand, each piece of lace was woven together and carefully placed on exquisite silk or chiffon. It was fitted perfectly to the bride and every detail was evaluated and noticed. That dress was dreamed up by the designer, it was treated with care by the seamstress, and it was thoughtfully chosen by the bride. Because of that, it is cherished, honored and full of value.
That is exactly how God feels about His children. He carefully crafted us, knitted us together and knows the number of our days on this earth. Because I am His I can remember my value and the time and thought He put into creating me. But even more important than that, I can praise and give the glory to Jesus Christ because He chose me to be His daughter. He not only designed me He chose me, He values me, He died for me and because of that truth I can look to Him, walk in freedom and glorify the greatest designer of all time! That is pretty cool. So the next time you look in the mirror, think about the amazing designer who dreamed you up, knitted you together and chose you to be His.

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
