The Attic

by Catherine Cotton

This past Spring I had the privilege to design a 5 look collection at Baylor University.  The semester was filled with sketches, sewing, ripping out and sewing again, Pinterest, late nights and some tears along the way.  But boy was it well worth it.  I had the privilege to meet new friends (who modeled for me), dream up and execute my own photo shoot and see my designs walk the runway at the Baylor fashion show.  It was definitely one of the highlights of my four years in college.  I learned that ideas and cohesion do not come together over night.  It takes days, weeks and months to create a complete and lovely design to be proud of. These lovely pictures were taken by my very talented friend, Carey Patterson.  When it comes down to it, I could not have done this alone.  I would not have survived without the constant faithfulness of Jesus, patience from professors, encouragement from my family, and love from some true friends who sat in my room for hours watching me sew and picking up pins scattered around the room.  It was a danger zone.
